Lately I have really been feeling inspired to pursue my dreams (I have so many!! lol). But I must be real, it is easy to let fear get in the way. I know God lays things on my heart and has given me many gifts; its just that at times it is difficult to start acting on them. God let's us know that he has great things in store for us, but we seem to be afraid to not act on them. God has given me gifts, and I am convinced that it is now my time to act on them. Often, when we think of dreams, we think of these major events and occurrences, but we really just have to start small. God wants us to do great things here on Earth, as long as He receives the glory he is due, we just have to bring the desires of our heart to him! One of the first things I want to do is start doing some wardrobe consulting (prayerfully I can turn it in to a career), so you know what I did a few days ago to act on the gift God has given me? Ordered some business cards (Vistaprints has some extremely affordable ones)! I don't know what your aspirations and dreams may be (maybe go back to school, get married have children, start a new career, become an actress, etc), but I do not that by listening to God speak and acting on what he gives, you can achieve them!
So lovelies, time to get to work!!

Today's Bible Verse(s)
Matthew 17:20 (New International Version)
20He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
Hebrews 2:4 (New King James Version)
4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

Happy Hump Day Lovelies!
Ok, so first apologies are due, because I have neglected writing for over a week. I have been kinda busy trying to maintain and venture into new things. By the way, I passed my TExES content exam; Praise God!!! When I got the news I was hall monitoring during the TAKS test, so I had to quietly praise God for seeing me through that test with a passing grade, instead running and shouting and screaming down the hallway like I really wanted to.
I knew I was in a school, and there is supposed to be a separation of church and state, but ladies, I really could not hold my peace. So you know what I did, I went to the restroom and had a small and brief praise party, lol. God is too awesome, not to give him the praise that he is due. The Bible says that God works the extraordinary not the ordinary, and if I can be real about my testing ability on April 4, 2009, God was being extraordinary when I got that passing score! I was so nervous, even seconds before I opened the score on my iPhone, which has gotten me to thinking lately. Why was I doubting God? True enough, I know I was falling asleep (not literally but very close LOL) during the test, had no idea about one of the works I was supposed to write about in my comparative essay, and felt like the stuff I studied in my test prep materials was not on the test. But, I had prayed to God about that thing on many occasions, including right before I started testing, yet I did not have faith that I would do good enough.
And you know what, God showed me baby! When I saw that score, I felt God say "I got you baby girl." It was such an awesome feeling, knowing that though I was doubtful, He had already taken care of me and reminded me that I had no reason to doubt! All it takes is faith in God and his wonderful abilities, for extraordinary things to happen. All he is doing, is waiting is for us to ask Him and believe in him. Sometimes, our prayers don't get answered, because we ask without believing. God wants to do great works in our lives, but we fail to ask. (I'm talking to myself too lovelies) So, from this day forward, lets talk to God, tell him the desires of our heart (according to his will and word of course), and believe in Him to do great things (in His time, not ours)!

Keep It Positive!!!
Hello lovelies!! Sorry for the small hiatus (I have to figure out a consistent pattern for these postings). I hope all is well with you, and if it's not, know that is going to get better! Sunday my pastor preached on positive thinking, which is something I have been trying to practice everyday for the last couple of months! I really believe that when you think positively or negatively on things, it comes into fruition based on how you think. There are so many things God has laid on my heart, this blog being one, that I just know are a part of His purpose for me, but I have to remember to think positively on those things and not let the devil seep into my thoughts. It took me a while to start this blog, after God laid it on my heart to do so, because I was always thinking "I can write literary papers, but I don't know how to write blog post." It wasn't until I constantly thought "I have stories to share, believe women can be Christian and fabulous consecutively, and may be able to help someone with the things I have to say!" that this blog became a reality.
Thinking positively not only affects the things you want to do, but the way you act everyday. When you think positively your attitude and vibe is positive, which is a beautiful reflection of God in you! Don't get me wrong, as humans we still have bad attitudes at times, but that's something we have to pray t God about and try to do better next time. It is so easy to let Satan and negative thoughts seep into our mind, but truth is, positive thinking has a lot to do faith too. When you have faith in God and what He has planned for your life, it should be (and has been for me) easier to think positively. I want to star my own fashion related business, but I have yet to figure out the complete ways to make it happen (but it is not for me to figure out, since I've given it over to God). I think positive on my future endeavors everyday and visualize myself running things as an entrepreneur, knowing that God will give me anything I ask if it is according to His will!
Maybe you're looking for a job, trying to finish or start school, looking for a Godly romantic relationship, and the list can go on and on. I encourage you to THINK and SPEAK positively on whatever it may be, give it over to God, and watch HIM work!!!

Passing My Test
So, I just registered for a teacher certification test (English Language Arts & Reading 8-12), and it is like 2.5 weeks!!! That is totally not enough time to prepare for a major standardized exam, especially being that I graduated form college 2 years ago and most of my work since then has been fashion/retail related. So y'all pray for me (cause I am freaking out a bit, lol). I know my stuff when it comes to literature; I already know what books I want to have students read and the ways I want to engage them in reading and literature. However, some of the questions on the practice exam I downloaded, left me a bit puzzled or wondering if I am really able to pass my test. So, I go to the library and check out all of the TExES study books I can find trying to study for this test, and God says to me, "Are you studying for my test?" Truth be told, God is testing us all the time; the trials and tribulations we face are not just for fun or the devil trying to hurt us. Sometimes God allows things to happen to us to see how we respond. I have to be real honest, I am not as well prepared for God's test as I should be. To prepare for the test of God, we need to read the word, pray, and attend church services and groups that will implant the word of God so that we can use it in daily life. I have to be real; I am not where I should be in preparing for my test (which is probably why I fail sometimes). But God is so wonderful; He gives me a chance to redeem myself with another test. Plus those test often force me to study His word and talk to Him, which is all that He really wants anyway! Preparing for God's test doesn't necessarily mean spending an hour reading God's word everyday (though that is an eventual goal of mine), but I am finding that making a bit more time than I used to is a great help. God appreciates the time we spend with Him, and through this time He blesses us with the tools to face life on Earth head on, and past the test of life with flying colors! In studying for spiritual test, I have found that I am better prepared for Earthly test too. I know that God has given me knowledge to pass my test in a few weeks, and I have faith in his ability to help me pass this test (through calming my anxiety or helping me recall things from my education to answer the test questions correctly). Test come to try our faith, and just like we study for test for school or work, we (myself included) need to study for God's test as well. He gives us all of the tools to succeed in life (on ever level), we just have to take the initiative to use the tools (His word, church, conversation with Him) and apply them!

Today's Bible Verse
Matthew 17:20 (King James Version)

Faith For The Impossile
Happy Monday lovelies!!! I had a wonderful weekend (with a bit of drama mixed in), and I hope you did too!! Saturday morning I went to a women's conference to hear my play mom speak, and ended up being enormously blessed!! The keynote speaker spoke on things that really resonated with me, premarital sex, believing i God to deal with your mountains, education, and simply having a strong faith in God, all under the subject, "Faith For the Impossible" (derived from Matthew 17: 16-20). I had been internally struggling with removing a certain sinful nature and action from my life, but not giving God full control to help me remove this thing. On Saturday, I really gave it over to God, and let me say by Sunday night, God made away for it to be removed from my life!! I know that I will only be able to resist sinful temptation (which I thought to be impossible) through God's help. Once I gave it over to God wholeheartedly, the impossible became possible, because I had complete faith in him. I don't know what you may be struggling with or wanting for your life, but please know that God is AWESOME, POWERFUL, and JUST, but He will only make the impossible happen when you have FAITH!!!!
